violets, thyme and cassis

Violets, thyme and cassis.  These are the notes that stood out when I read the description of Bond No. 9's fragrance Bleecker Street. [1]  For those of you more familiar with New York City's West Village than I am, you will get it when Bond No. 9 asked Rachel Katz to design the bottle.

This would be considered a masculine unisex scent.  I remember that the CEO of the world's most expensive perfumery only wears masculine scents.  They notes are:  
Top notes: Violet leaf, cassis, thyme, 
Middle notes: Jasmine, cedarwood, cinnamon
Base notes: Oakmoss, suede, patchouli, amber, vanilla

Proenza Schouler Arizona Eau de Parfum: capturing the red rock mystique in a bottle

Proenza Schouler, a New York–based womenswear and accessories brand, has launched their first fragrance.  Arizona , a fresh floral mix of living cactus flower accord, creamy orris accord, is contained in a  bottle with an interior shaped like a splashing raindrop. The designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, designed the fragrance after being inspired by a roadtrip through the desert lands of Arizona.   One of the wonders they visited on this trip included Antelope Canyon in the Navajo nation.  The canyon is a narrow passageway that is only safe to visit a few times a year.  At various times over the seasons it's on the pathway of migrating antelopes.  The mineral rich red rock has been smoothed into sandy groves along it's walls, and the top of the canyon features natural skylights that create colors ranging from deep purples, reds, and yellows as the sun shines into the canyon at different times of the day.   This ...
